Qualification Examination on Weapons and Equipment Manufacturing Units is based on the requirements of “People's Liberation Army Equipment Manufacturing Unit Qualification Management Regulations”, “GJB5917-2006 Equipment Manufacturing Unit Qualification”, in order to enhance the overall strength of the manufacturing equipment, and guarantee quality, confidentiality, continued supply and support capabilities of weaponry. PLA General Armament Department implement the qualification system to the units which purchase various types of weapons. Only the enterprise pass the review can be listed in “List of Equipment Manufacturing Units”, units which purchase equipment should be selected from the "List of Equipment Manufacturing Units".
